I heard the coolest sermon yesterday. At first, I thought it was the comedy channel. The radio has obviously made several changes in its programming, again…and I thought someone may have been leading to joke fest about God. Of course I would have changed it, had that been that the case…but, the more I listened…I discovered that it was an actual sermon.

This female was discussing…how a person, who accepts God into their lives…should not define themselves by who they used to be…in the sense that they would allow their past to continue to destroy them. Our past makes us who we are and we should make better decisions, based upon our life experiences.

Well, this female mentioned…many times, that she had to cut herself off from others she knew and that she had a very checkered past.

She mentioned her life experiences, her struggles and her ins and out with career paths and living arrangements.

Obviously, she did not have the best relationship with her father and he was someone she was unable to get rid of…

One day, a male called her place of work and mentioned to an employee that he was coming to get her and that she better be ready…which ultimately meant he was coming to kill her. This male was her father.

The female was in formed by her coworker and began to prepare to dodge this bullet, literally…

She stated that she was preparing to go into hiding…in order to avoid  confrontation….calling the police, etc…

Then, she began praying to God…

She asked God why it was that she was one of his children…yet, she was living in fear and that shouldn’t exist because, he was supposed to protect her..

Wouldn’t you know it…her father had a heart attack….as he was entering his car….in the parking lot….at his place of employment…

It turns out that he had been drinking on the job that day…caused a bunch of turmoil…..then, decided that he should be on his way….

Isn’t it amazing…we go through these modes…where we know that God will protect us….yet, there are times where we cannot escape the fear of Satan, through man…

That was an awesome story..

It just goes to show you….
